Allegheny County Medical Society Highlights PA POLST Legislation

In a recent post on The Allegheny County Medical Society's ACMS Insights, Jewish Healthcare Foundation senior communications and program specialist Lisa George, MPH, CHES, outlined the current Pennsylvania Orders for Life-Sustaining Treatment (POLST) form used in the state since 2010 to provide a standardized way to translate patients' wishes for care into actionable medical orders, and the importance of new legislation currently in the Pennsylvania Senate that would revise the PA law to codify POLST to be used by medical professionals across all healthcare settings.
