Janelle DeBaldo and Elena Facchini join JHF

JHF welcomes two new staff members in 2019:

Janelle DeBaldo is a program assistant for Women's Health Activist Movement Global (WHAMglobal). She worked on the WHAMglobal team during her 2018 summer internship at JHF, and has returned to continue her work to improve women's health and health services. She earned her Bachelor's in Communication Management with a concentration in Health Care from the University of Dayton in December 2018. She plans to attend graduate school in Fall 2019 to pursue a Master's in Healthcare Administration.

Elena Facchini, MPH, will join the Foundation in March as a Partnerships and Resource Development Specialist. She will be working on the WHAMglobal team, the Healthcare Innovation team, and the Reinvesting in Health team. A Pittsburgh native, she has returned home with extensive international experience in public health, and an impressive range of work in private- and public-sector partnership development and resource development. As a health officer for the U.S. Agency for International Development from 2011 to 2015, she served in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Kenya. Following that, she was based in London, working for consultancies in international development and corporate social responsibility. While in the U.K., Ms. Facchini earned a postgraduate diploma in Global Business from the Saïd Business School at Oxford. She received her Master's in Public Health from George Washington University and a Bachelor's in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Georgia. Ms. Facchini has also worked in Italy and Spain. She is fluent in French, German, and Italian, but claims to have just "basic" Spanish and Swahili.
