Stacie Bonenberger Serves as Patient Safety Judge for AHN MI Trainee Research Day

Judges engage with a participant at AHN MI Trainee Research Day.

Jewish Healthcare Foundation Aging Initiatives Program Manager Stacie Bonenberger, MOT, OTR/L, served as judge for the Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Medical Institute (MI) Trainee Research Day on May 3. Trainee Research Day is an annual poster competition for residents and fellows in the MI.

Begun in 2013, the competition is an opportunity to showcase the work of learners at AHN and the importance research and scholarship plays in the training of future physicians. Bonenberger served as a judge in the Quality Improvement/Patient Safety category, reviewing the 10 finalists in the category with Molly A. Fisher, MD and James B. Reilly, MD.

Winners in the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety category were: First place, Dr. Sheldon Rao, PCCM Fellow, "Oxygen Script Test - Do All My Patients Need It?;" second place, Dr. Max Jacobs, IM Resident, "Real-world Analysis of a Low-Barrier Beta-Lactam Allergy Assessment Protocol Managed by an Antimicrobial Stewardship Program;" and third place, Dr. Arinze Bosah, IM Resident, "Heart Failure Patients Managed by Primary Care Physicians Alone are Less Likely to Reach Target Doses of Guideline-Directed Medical Therapy."
