Two Patient Safety Awards Added to Competitions Across the Country

Two competitions have joined the Patient Safety Technology Challenge funded by the Jewish Healthcare Foundation and administered by the Pittsburgh Regional Health Initiative.

The East Carolina University Healthcare Innovation Pitch Program is a business competition for East Carolina University clinicians, faculty, and students to pitch ideas that address one of the five main categories of patient harm. There are no restrictions on the stage of the idea being submitted. The deadline to register is May 16. Selected teams will have four training sessions and an in-person pitch presentation will be held June 22.

The 5th Annual Digital Health Hub Foundation's Digital Health Awards 2023 will include a patient safety category sponsored by the Patient Safety Technology Challenge. The Digital Health Awards will recognize companies' innovative achievements in improving health through technology. Submissions to apply are open now and will close on June 30th, 2023. The winners will be announced the HLTH conference in Las Vegas on October 9, 2023.

The Patient Safety Technology Challenge is designed to fuel the engagement of students and innovators in creating solutions and envisioning transformational approaches to reduce preventable harm from medical errors and reimagine a vastly safer healthcare system.
