Dementia Friendly Webinar to Be Held June 16

A Dementia Friendly Webinar on "Bringing a Community Together" will be held on June 16 from 10:30 a.m. to noon. This webinar is for those who are interested in starting a Dementia-Friendly Community in their area. Attendees will learn: What it takes to become a dementia-friendly community; how communities across the globe are making a difference; actionable steps to create a dementia-friendly community with support from Dementia Friendly Pennsylvania. On May 19 Dementia Friends held a webinar titled "Grief, Loss and Dementia" with three expert speakers: Elizabeth Schandelmeier, LCSW, APHSW-C; , Elka Kazmierczak, PhD, MA; , and Itzel Estrada-Galicia, a member of the Youth Movement Against Alzheimer's Operations Advisory Team. Two care partners also shared their experiences. Over 60 people from 34 counties across Pennsylvania and from nine other states were in attendance.
