JHF Sponsors Healthy Start’s Black Birth Expo

The Jewish Healthcare Foundation was a silver sponsor of Healthy Start's Black Birth Expo held April 15 at the August Wilson African American Cultural Center. Sara Nelis, RN, project manager for the Pennsylvania Perinatal Quality Collaborative (PA PQC) and the Pittsburgh: A Safer Childbirth City initiative, attended the event which provided resources, vendors, education, and community. The keynote speaker was Christin Farmer, founder of Birthing Beautiful Communities. Other speakers included: Aquene Watkins of Royally Fit, Muffy Mendoza of Brown Mamas, and Tamiah Bridgett of It's a Natural Thang.
